good theme thanks

ı dont speak english

Very nice and uncommon theme; I’va made a french translation here : http://wordpress-tuto.fr/theme-wordpress-aspire-293

I’m new to all of this, how do i apply this theme to my blog?

Someone please help!

How can i use this theme for account on blogspot.com?
Thanks!

Thank you very much, this theme is the one i need for my site.

What a nice theme!

Thanks a lot ;)

I’m having a bit of a problem installing it and using it with widgets. The usual widgets tab doesn’t show up under presentation and when I try to “activate” sidebar widgets, I get this:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare widget_search() (previously declared in /wp-content/themes/Aspire/functions.php:12) in wp-content/plugins/widgets/widgets.php on line 726

So basically, I cannot change the widgets or move them around or anything.

Any ideas?

Wow! This is really nice! I honestly was surprised since a vast majority of free themes are … well, kind of suck.

GOOD JOB ON NOT SUCK!

Very good design, I really liked this theme – it’s so different comparing to all this standard ones people develop.

great job

GORGEOUS and I’ve already implemented it at my site. LOVE IT.

Great job guys! It is quite clear a lot of time was spent developing this theme. I wish there were more theme developers like you out there!

Gideon… which wordpress version are you using? I installed this on two of my blog with not problem

Very nice theme. I’d love to see this in a fluid width. What do you think?

I too, would love to see this in a fluid width. at 800×600 – this theme has massive scrollbars…

This plugin doesnt look fine in this theme…
http://blog.jalenack.com/archives/democracy/

I something wrong with the download file? I have uploaded and tried to activate this theme on my site both through one-click and CP, and despite several tries, it’s a no-go.

Would love to use — it’s a beautiful theme. Help?

Okay, for some reason it doesn’t work through one-click, and to get it unzipped in CP, (at least w/ siteground) you hav eto create a folder for it first….won’t do it automatically.

But it’s done, it’s up, and I totally love it!

Thank you!

One problem when in comments mode — the sidebar drops to the bottom.

Wow! This is an awesome template. I really, really like it!

I love it very much!thanks^_^

I’m using 2.3.1

I’ll try it on another install and see what happens.

Very nice old looking skin, good job

I’m using it on myfavoriteword.com, and I was wondering how to go about (I know this sounds strange) removing the square date tabs on posts — i.e., have no dates on posts and pages.

Gorgeous theme, BTW. Thanks!

I adore this theme, but had problems trying to install it. I’ve made no changes, but get an error message when trying to view the index:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: the_title_attribute() in /home/bleedi2/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Aspire/single.php on line 15

When I try to view the archives I get a fatal error on line 13.

When I click on a tag, I get
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: the_title_attribute() in /home/bleedi2/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Aspire/archive.php on line 32

I’ve made no changes to the stuff I downloaded from your website, and it seems like nobody else is having problems with this. Any suggestions? I’m using wordpress 2.2.2 apparently, if that matters. I also made sure I downloaded the WP version and not the Blogger version.

It does not work with blogger yet. Hope you fix the problem soon.

This is a beautiful theme and I want to use it! I keep getting the message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: language_attributes() in /mnt/w0008/d21/s09/b01741b1/www/faerygold.com/wp-content/themes/aspire/header.php on line 3

Can you help please? Thank you.

Really beautiful theme! I’ve bookmarked your site as I’m eager to see what else you come up with!

Hi, that was really fantastic work , but there is a problem . I am using word press which is Persian or Farsi.
I want to ask you if you can please translate this theme to Farsi , if Farsi styles are unknown to you , you can search on Google.com and then you will find some way to translate this to Farsi .
Please do that, because there are many people who like this theme and they wanted when its Farsi.
We will have many problem if it is English.
Thanks a lot. I am waiting for your answer. Have a great day .

check this one out http://www.naghies.ir/aspire-persian-stylesheet-680.html. It looks like what yiu’re looking for.

Let us know if that helps:)

I posted earlier because this theme wasn’t working when I installed. I assumed, correctly, it was something I had or hadn’t done. I updated to the most recent version of wordpress and that solved the issue. Since then, I’ve had NO problems with this theme. It looks super great and I love it. Just wanted to throw a solution out there if anyone else was having the same problem I was.

Thank you so much for creating this theme. It’s absolutely beautiful.

Hi again
Thanks for your answer, but you know what , he translate it half…i mean half is Persian and the other half is not Persian . I really dont know what to do .
When i write something its looking so bad and its a problem .
Thanks if you help me

I’m getting an error with the theme:

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/mozart/public_html/wp-content/themes/aspire/index.php on line 63″

This happens with every search done on the search box at:
http://www.mozartsmusic.org

I’m having the same problem that Jane posted about on December 15 (ironic we’re both named Jane!).

When I go into the single page view, or comments view, the two sidebars drop to the bottom.

what is the timestamp format?

That happens to me when I added some stuff on the side-bar. And I can’t fix it back again. Take a look

I love this template!

Has anybody reported that the blog tag line does not appear on the blog while using this template? can this be adjusted?

As a future request, is there a way the two side-bars can be separated so one can be on the left and one on the right of the main posts?

Thank you!

Comme une image says on January 31st, 2008 at 11:00 pm

@ Jeffrey K. > I tried to add it below blog title but everything messed up.
So I modified header.php this way :

[h1][a href="[?php echo get_option('home'); ?]/” title=”[?php echo bloginfo('description'); ?]“][?php bloginfo('name'); ?][/a][/h1]

NB : replace [] by usual HTML brackets.

To add the tagline, you also have to modify some styles in styles.css. I’m working on several changes to this theme which I will release, but I’m a ways off. To do this yourself, modify the following styles:

#head: Change height from 250px to 260px.

.header: Change height from 250px to 260px.

.logo: Change position from absolute to relative.

Add this line:

.logo h2 {font: bold 18px/120% Georgia; padding: 0 0 10px 20px; margin-right: 16px; marting-top: -10px;}

Dang! There’s a type in the above line. Here’s the correct line:

.logo h2 {font: bold 18px/120% Georgia; padding: 0 0 10px 20px; margin-right: 16px; margin-top: -10px;}

Thank you, Comme une image and David, I will tweak as you suggest and see how it goes.

I am not a developer, so never would have figured this out.

Looking forward to the upcoming theme tweaks. I have been getting a lot of positive comments about the theme!

Any ETA for it?

Well, I hope to have it in shape in a couple weeks. Here’s what I’m adding in addition to displaying the tagline:
- Support for specifying how you want your sidebar laid out – single or double on right, single or double on left, single on left and right.
- Adding a full-width sidebar at the top when double-width is selected.
- Adding support for a bunch of plugins (WP-Email, WP-Print, WP-PostViews, Cross-References).
- Fixing various problems I’ve run in to.

There are a few other things, but these are the biggies. I’ll post a comment here when I’m done.

thanks for that theme, i was wondering if i will be able to find a theme that gives the pharoanic impression , and finally i got it
thanks again

Well, I was able to make the changes David listed above, but no change on my blog. I could not figure out where or how to make the changes Comme une image suggested. Do both changes need to be made?

Comme une image says on February 9th, 2008 at 9:44 am

Jeffrey, if you really want to customize your pages, you should try and learn some HTML/CSS basics ! ;-)

CSS is for presentation (= styles).
PHP is for content.
David’s modifications :
— add 10 pixel of height to the title zone
— specify a “h2″ style for the title zone

So… what he didn’t say is that you have to add some h2 content after you h1 content (in header.php)

<div class="logo">
<h1>...</h1>
<h2><?php echo bloginfo('description');?></h2>
</div>

Love this theme, very much, but I can’t make the date show up in the box, like it’s supposed to. I matched everything up to the html on your sample blogspot.

Is there something I need to change in the settings of blogger to get it to work?

What a gorgeous theme! I’d love to use it, but when I click the blogger download link, it takes me a site but no actual download begins. Help!
callmeabookworm at gmail dot com

Hey Great templates! I just downloaded the blogger version and it worked fine.

hopefully you will be releasing a blogger version of the blue jeans 3 columns?? http://www.infocreek.com/webdesign/free-wordpress-theme-coming-up-next-is-blue-jeans.html

looks cool and I have a blog that needs just that!

kwolf aBookworm you may want to try again or let me know if you need a copy .

I tried again just now and could download it just fine. Thanks!! I’ll try to apply it to one of my blogs and will you let you know if I need any help.

Thanks again for this gorgeous creation!

Thank you, Comme une image. I know I need to learn more about these things, but the time, oh the time!

I added the line as you mentioned, and while it added a line of text under my title, the line of text is, interestingly, the same as the title itself. Odd.

I checked and rechecked the additions I made to css and header, but cannot see anything different than what you both stated.

Dear Friend,

This Blogger template cannot view the date of post correctly. I think the link to JavaScript in its code (http://www.blogger.magznetwork.com/templates/mummys-note/changedate.js) couldn’t load. Please find me this file.
I found changeDate() function isn’t working when this file hasn’t.

Please click here to see this error: http://chuyenla.moohay.com

Thank you a lot!

I’m having the same problem with the Blogger version as kwolf. I can’t get the dates to show up in the date box, just a blank box.

someguy and Nhan…I just downloaded the same file… works like charm! The you follow the instruction in the read me file? did you set your date format?

u come with very beautiful theme….thanks….i wl try to tweak as u said.

I really like your theme, and just switched to it yesterday, thanks!

I ran into a problem with your style.css over-riding the sociable.css for the Sociable Plugin. Your definition of “display: block” (defined in “#main ul”) over-rode the inline definition that sociable defaults to.

I just posted about a workaround, but since you mentioned that you are updating your theme soon anyway, I wonder whether there isn’t a better way to handle this conflict.

Thanks again!

P.S. Here is the direct link to my posting about this problem:

http://www.opticality.com/blog/2008/02/23/firefox-dom-inspector/

another guy says on February 24th, 2008 at 8:57 am

I got the same problem too. The date box is completely blank, it doesnt show the date. Please tell me how to fix this.

And how could I modify this to become a 2-column version ?

Thanks

I can’t put it on my blog… in blogspot. I’m only read the code html in my blog, I can’t see the image of this beautiful template. Please, help me.

@ another guy » I tweaked it in a 2 columns version, but it’s a french version now ;-)
Contact me on my site (since you didn’t left any address) if you want some info.

I am also experiencing this date in the post problem, if anyone know how to correct this, please let us know!

Hi,

I’m trying to use this theme. Can you please let me know what is the color code for the sidebar widgets for my AdSense? Thanks!

See how to solve the date problem on my blog!
http://cutiecraft.blogspot.com

When I use the XHTML validation link on this theme it always gives a warning:

Conflict between Mime Type and Document Type

This is due to the DOCTYPE being set to XHTML 1.1 and the Content-Type met tag specifying text/html instead of application/xhtml+xml. This happens because the theme calls bloginfo(‘html_type’) to set the content type, which is set to text/html by default.

I did a little research to see if there were any XHTML recommendations for WordPress. Sure enough there are. Check out http://codex.wordpress.org/HTML_to_XHTML.

I’m curious why XHTML 1.1 is specified by this theme? Have you worked out a way to make it pass XHTML validation without any warnings?

Thanks,
David

Hmm, interesting. When I changed the html_type option to application/xhtml+xml, my browser (IE7) stopped displaying the site and instead wanted to download the generated document. Looks to me like the world isn’t ready for XHTML 1.1.

I’m having trouble with the dates, too. It look slike Dave (above) figures it out but his are blue- and I tried to copy his coding, but it made mine blue, too. I’m hoping it’s an easy fix- enlighten me please.

I fixed the date problem at my site and all I did was follow this read me file that was included with the template download, (very carefully) and to the “T”. Site runs great now!! Click on my name to visit my site and see for yourself! Below is the read me file enclosed with the template I downloaded.

Installation Instruction

1. Login to your Blogger Dashboard
2. Go to Template > Edit HTML
3. Upload XML Template file (don’t copy & paste code directly because many people had a problem with it)
4. Please don’t preview your blog just yet. Go to Template > Page Element. Add at least one link to “Top Menu” widget if this is a new blog
5. Go to Settings > Formatting, choose Timestamp style: “Wednesday, January 30, 2008″ (or what ever the date is on your end maintaining that date format)
6. That’s It!

Mrs. Hannigan, if you follow those steps above you shouldn’t have any problems at all. Choosing the timestamp style I believe is the KEY to the fix!!

Hope it works for you!!

Emily, the hex decimal number you need to match up your adsense background is (DEB968).

Use a color picker to help you adjust your colors. I use the one in a free program I downloaded called Paint.net, it’s a knock off of Adobe Photoshop with all the bells and whistles. And did I mention that it is free?

Still loving the theme, and looking forward to the new version!

A suggestion – many of my visitors cannot find where to leave comments, as the default text states “No Comments.” Could this say something else, such as “Click here to Leave a Comment,” or “2 Comments. Click Here to Leave Another One” ?

Thank you.

Thanks Dave! just like everyone, I don’t seems to read “read me” files :)

but that did the magic without having to cut or paste some special things!

Hi Dave,

Thank you, thank you so much for the hex decimal number. I was on the verge of giving up and my changing theme!

I’ve also just downloaded the program from Paint.net. Thanks for letting me know!

Hey Jeff,
does your “no comments” change when someone leaves a comment? Like, does it say “1 comment”?

And Abay – I didn’t read the damn read me file at first either, LOL!!!

Hi Emily,
No problem, glad I could help ya!! I wanted to tell you about another program I use called snagit you can download a trial of it here http://www.techsmith.com/download/trials.asp
It will capture any part of a screen and you can save it as a photo and then open it in paint.net to help you determine the actual colors that you are trying to match. Works like a charm!

Yes, it changes to “1 Comment,” but I am not sure this is clear enough for new readers to know that if that is clicked, then they can comment, too. I get a lot of readers new to blogs, and they are not really clear how they can comment themselves.

Hi Dave,

Thanks so much for the heads up. I’ve got SnagIt now too :D though I haven’t the chance to try it out.

Jeff,

With regards to the No Comments / 0 Comments issue, this is how I solved it at my site (www.facingdiabetes.com):

Go to the Main Index Template (index.php) and find the following line:

Change the “No Comments” to “0 Comments”.

Great idea! Thank you.

i use the blogger version but i cant find the blog archive or calendar..can i fix this?how ..please help me
also in labels dont see the numbers..what happens?
thanks

I love this template, and have followed the README instructions for Blogger meticulously but date stamp will not show up… just says ‘undefined’ in it’s place. Am using correct date format. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I really like your theme.
Thanks again!

Very Beautiful template, I use blogger version.

Thank you!

Hi –thank you so much for this incredible theme and for all the comments. I am new to this and really tried to even find that read me? mentioned and still can’t. I went into settings and changed date stamp, etc. and nothing yet. I don’t know html, but am trying to learn as much as i can. I really need some help with making the date work (if not it says undefined?), with learning how to add an email to friend icon while still keeping the details of theme, also how to print each post (tried a lot of suggestions, but it hasn’t worked yet). that’s about it -other than that, it’s perfect!!! Any help would really be appreciated!
Meredith

I forgot to show an ex of how it worked, but shut off all the nice details of this template
a test site

http://legacytree2.blogspot.com/

thank you again -sincerely!

OK
i read readme and followed it in another test blog and it worked! Now -i just need to find out if i have to start everything over (all details and widgets, etc.) or if i can fix it now that it has been previewed, etc?

Also –i am really hoping to find out how to add an email a friend icon and also a print a post icon.

Thanks!!!

How do I use it on a blog hosted by Wordpress.com such as mine?

I fixed the date problem by adding this code above </body>

<script>
function changeDate(d){
var da = d.split(‘ ‘);
day = “<div class=’day’>”+da[2].replace(/,/,”")+”</div>”; // 12
month = “<div class=’month’>”+da[1].slice(0,3)+”</div>”; // December
document.write(day+month);
}
</script>

Help!

I’ve implemented the aspire layout to my blog , however I can not get the ‘date’ to display correctly. In the upper left corner of the posts there is a lil orange box that simply says ‘undefined’. I have gone to my settings and changed the date format and tried every one of them..to no avail. Is this something that needs to be changed/fixed in the HTML? If so how and where?

Thank you in advance!

Slainte’

Mad

Actually now that I look carefully none of the other post options appear either..such as *trackbacks* *links to this post* *email* etc etc and so on.

Very nice template and it blends with my website perfectly but one question. how do i put the dates in those squares? check my site and you will understand.

http://thoseoldbooks.blogspot.com

Nhan – you really don’t need that code to make the date show up. I have 6 blogs working with the same template and they all work and look fine “out of the box”.

Tolkin, did you follow the instruction in the read me file?

Read me file? You have dates and yours came with a read me file???

re-downloaded the thing Again. Set up a test site. Same problem…followed the alleged read me instructions..nada..no fix same result the lil orange box for the date simply says UNDEFINED.

yes i did everything… well it works perfect except the comment page that its not modified and the date box..

the date box is messed(undefined) up for me as well…I created this blog as a test after I tried it on my other blog…but I lost all my widgets is that suppost to happen and only thing that stayed was my catergories and the frame didn’t go around all of them…please help me I love this aspire theme so much…and I want to use it

Your subject unusual is attractive I to like

Hi, i dont speak much english, im spanish.

And i can´t upload pictures on the navbar… =S

can you help me?

PD: sorry for my bad english

I have tried everything possible. EVERYTING!!! THe date still refuses to show up :( HELP!!

I am currently using Aspire Theme in my blog, OnlyinSilence.com, running on WP2.5. I am not so versed with the codes and I need a step by step guide on how to put a graphic on my header. Thanks ;o)

Will this very nice theme be available in a buggfixed WP 2.5-version? That would be great.

Hi. I would like to use the template in 3 column but when I click on the Download 3 column blogger demo, I get a jeans3 template. Can you please tell me how I can download this template with 3 column as its really very nice. Thanks

gabrielle says on April 11th, 2008 at 3:59 pm

Hi. I have downloaded the 3 column template. Tnx. I would like to interchange the date and month in the post but I cant seem to do it. How can it be done? Thanks.

Gabrielle – it is easy.. search for this string in the templates – ” php the_time(‘F jS’)”

(’F jS’) is what you are interested in. The “F” is the month and jS is the day (j the day and S the extension after the date).

Hope that helps

Wonderful template BTW, I’ll be implementing over the weekend

some help needed when I tried to use this template all my labels, archieves didn’t show up is it a way to fix this and date format was messed up…can someone walk me through this

oh yeah I am trying to use this on blogger

butterfly229 says on April 11th, 2008 at 10:30 pm

I feel totally stupid. I can’t get this to open – any of them. Once I open the Zip it says “The document “jeand3c.xml” could not be opened. I have a .mac Does that make a difference and if so, does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a template for the mac.
Thanks much!!

Beautiful theme, exactly what we wanted. Thank you so much

gabrielle says on April 24th, 2008 at 2:54 am

Thanks Max for the help on changing the date and the month for this template. But Im using the blogger version and cant seen to find what you were saying:
“search for this string in the templates – ” php the_time(’F jS’)”

(’F jS’) is what you are interested in. The “F” is the month and jS is the day (j the day and S the extension after the date).

In the html of the template. i tired interchanging the .content .date .month but the date comes out missing. I also tried modifying the font size but still the date comes out missing.

How can I interchange them? Thanks again.

I was wondering why when you upload to blogger, all the widgets we have are deleted? and is there a way to save those widgets for inclusion back into the blog?

I’m new to Wordpress and themes, how do you edit this theme to be a two column theme? Removing comments, tags, posts, etc.

Excellent job! I love this theme! Very elegant and beautiful. So versatile that it can be used by girls or boys.

Will you be adding to it that font size thing and open link in new window feature that Duffy has? ~_~

I’m with Steven… I need to change this to a two column. Ihave items appearing twice. HELP:-(

Aspire is a BEAUTIFUL layout. I have not seen anything like it before! If I have one suggestion, it would be to have a 2 column layout. I (personally) like having the body of my blog WIDE, and take up all but the sidebar.

Any plans of doing this?

Regardless of the answer – THANKS a bunch, you really have some wonderful themes here!

I’ve FINALLY got it to work, but can’t figure out how to add the date. Can someone help?
Thanks in advance

Aspire – I would like to know, how introduce a calendar. Where can I find the widget ? Thank’s. From Barcelona

Thanks for the download link! I love the new notepad theme! just wonderful! :)

How to use the calendar in blogger version? Were to get it?

Even though I’ve enabled comments in the dashboard, the theme still reads “comments closed”. Any idea of what I could change to get this going?

Guys/gals For the Date problom All you got to do is go to > Settings > Formatting > Timestamp Format : In front of it than scroll for the date that looks like this > Saturday,May 31,2008
Save and your done. ;)

Dear Author of Aspire,

How do I make the width of the sidebars bigger. And not rowen the look of the templet?

Please let me know. I need it for my blog.

Thanks for the layout. I love it except that now I don’t have a way to access my dashboard anymore. I’m really new to this so please help.

I have redownloaded Aspire and I see you have added the fonts size and open link in new window javascript like Duffy has! Wow!

You are all so awesome for creating these quality themes! Thank you very much!

I love Infocreek! ~_~

By the way, I forgot to mention that when Aspire is used with Ajax Calendar plug-in, the calendar looks funky in IE when you expand the calendar. In Firefox it looks just fine.

Duffy and Notepad however does not have any problem at all with Ajax Calendar plugin whether in IE or Firefox. ^_~

I just installed your revised version of Aspire, and am happy to see a lot of tweaks and fixes. I did not know there were changes – were they listed anyplace?

I also noticed there is now an avatar in Aspire in the comments. Where does this come from? I could not locate anyplace to adjust this, though it comes up with a few of my commenters.

Can this draw from various sources?

Thank you.

I would love to use this template but even after following the instructions and making sure the date format is correct, the date still will not display in blogger. Has anyone found a fix yet?

@Lynn, would you mind adding me as an administrator? Seems the date format is wrong.

@Jeffrey Keefer, we made Aspire wordpress 2.5 ready and Avatar is auto generated by wordpress.

You have a wonderful blog BTW! :)

@Grace.

Thanks for your kind words ~_~

Which ajax calendar are you having problem with? any URL we can review?

I’ve never added anyone as Admin before, how is that done? Thanks! :)

@Lynn .. check your mail.

I see the date, I see the date!!!
*jumps up and down with glee*

Thank you SO much!!!
:)

@Lynn… I told you the date format was wrong didn’t I? ^_~

Enjoy!

Wonderful, and thank you for the kind comment on my blog!

LOL you did you did, I am a dork! I am not worthy!!!!!!!!

Thanks again!

Hi admin……ME TOO!!! I’ve been formatting like crazy to get a date….and where do you get the calendar????

Thank you!! Loving this template (although it was a template, it did take me 4 hours to get where it is now.. LOL!!) Please email me (I will not be able to respond until tomorrow because of kids coming home now. :)

@Denise Olson … Sure…check your mail.

@Denise Date fixed

Thanks Admin!! In addition to getting the date fixed, I was able to customize the date color block!! Whoo hoo. It only took me 2 hours!! LOL!! But spurred other ideas for the template. I too would like the sidebars wider and flanking each side of the centered body. Work in progress I guess….dissecting the style sheet. Can’t wait to see what others come up with….

I just uploaded the jeans template on “Download 2 columns here” to my blog and it was so cool! thx to the makers! but there is something wrong with the date. It is UNDEFINED! how can I fix it? can somebody please help me..? Your response will be higly appreciated..thx in advance!

OK, I really love this template, but I can’t get the date to work either. I followed the readme to no avail. Please Help!! Also, how can I show just the first paragraph of a post, then link to the whole post? Thanks again for a really great template.

Can those of you that got the date fixed inform us all how to fix it? I’m having problems with mine too. Thanks.

@Dave, Jaime, I gave this to someone try this:

login to the admin panel, click on settings, then formatting.
On the formatting page, you’ll see the following list:

Show
Date header Format,
Archive Index Date Format,
Timestamp Format
Time Zone
Language
Converter line breaks
Show title field……………………. and other stuff.

To set the date, you need to change the 4th one that says “Timestamp Format” to the date at your end today. like this : the day, the month followed by the date of the month and the year.

So for today the 2nd of July we have:

Wednesday, July 2, 2008.

Try that and let us know what you find out.

Should work. …most people change the second one (date header format) which is not what the “read me” file says.

Let us know how it goes

Hi im in love wth your theme.. but not able to use it since it XHTML based. Can you help me how to use it it in html base.thank you

Man! You are the greatest! I really dig this template, and now I can really use it! So simple a mistake, I feel properly abashed and humble. I guess my punishment was the bunch of all nighters I put in trying to understand all that html stuff. Thanks again for helping me out.

I’m really diggin this theme. Love it!! Love it!! You just can’t beat the look and feel a crumpled paper, burnt edges, jagged rdges. Themes like this are just qonderful.

I am currently using this theme, it’s beautiful.

I have a few questions I hope you can help me with;

1: How can I add the Page Options? This would be a great addition to my blog, I have some readers who would love to enlarge the font for easier reading.

2:How can I add that calendar? I like the look, and

3: How can I add the same type of Archive link in the Top Menu of my blog?

Thank you in advance, and thanks for your time!

Thanks for Aspire! :)

I adore Template… to I use and she is beautiful. But it would like a help.

Please.. I have problems in the file of the blog… He appears without configuration… Can anybody help myself to repair?

I am of Brazil and my English is basic, but it would like a lot of repairing Template.

Thank you very much

I am currently using this theme on Blogger, it’s beautiful.

I have a few questions I hope you can help me with;

1: How can I add the Page Options? This would be a *great* addition to my blog, I have some readers who would love to enlarge the font for easier reading.

2:How can I add that calendar? I like the look, and

3: How can I add the same type of Archive link in the Top Menu of my blog?

My main interest is the ‘Page Options.’

Thank you in advance, and thanks for your time!

Hi all, I just had a quick question that I haven’t been able to find an answer to. I use blogger and when trying to paste the code in I keep getting this error: “Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: Content is not allowed in prolog.” I honestly have no idea what this means, is there a quick fix or should I just move on? I really love this look and would be so grateful if someone were to explain how to fix this.. Thanks in advance, Rose.

Hello !

I had just started blogging, and since I am new to it, I was just wondering how do I use the WP theme (how can I apply it to my WP blog ?). I had already download the Aspire theme (which is beautiful indeed) where I got two folders containing several files. Can anyone please help me with this ?

For all those who are using blogger version of aspire please visit my blog. There you will find steps to make changes so that everything works just fine.

What a nice theme, easy to use. Thanks!

Regards,

Monique

Gorgeous theme for my genealogical web site at http://www.gregbennette.com. I’m using Wordpress. Thank you for a very nice theme – and free to boot! You made my design task very easy indeed.

Hello All,

I am not able to use this beautiful template in my wordpress.com account. Could someone please guide me. Please help me. U can mail me. THanks in anticipation

Rose,
If you look at the ‘read me’ file, in the unzipped download, it says pasting can cause problems, rather to upload the theme. Try that and it should fix the problem.

Faiz,
you will need a program to unzip the theme download. Once you have unzipped it, you should find a ‘read me’ file that will give you directions for using the theme on your blog.

Beautiful Theme, wonderful work, whatever praise you want, take it, it is deserved.

Thanks Seeker

Thanks for a beautyful skin! Got the date working!

What a beautiful theme and what an elegant design. It works so smoothly and without a single hiccup. Thank you very much for making it free, really, not only I will keep the link to your site as required, but I will write a post also about your site and about these free templates.

many thanks for you again.

Hi I just use your this templates, could kindly help me to take a look, how come the dates on post got error code.

Thanks

I have used the theme, it is just great, awesome, thanks InfoCreek for such a beautiful gift.

Well, I am having a problem, in fact 2 problems, one is with my content title, which is not linking up with the page URL and the another problem is with the comment area, where commenter puts his comment and try to backlink my site, but all the hyperlinks are gone when I publish the comments. Please, please, please any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Have a look on my blog with aspire theme http://cws-workfromhomeinfo.blogspot.com/

RedKirin,

There is a read me file that comes with the theme, open it and it will tell you how to fix that problem. Also check out Jaideep Walia’s blog; http://genxpit.blogspot.com/2008/07/make-changes-in-aspire-blogger-theme-to.html, for more help with this theme.

CWS,

I see you aren’t currently using the Aspire theme on your blog. If you have already read the Read Me file that came with the theme and the directions don’t fix the problems, try checking out Jaideep Walia’s blog; http://genxpit.blogspot.com/2008/07/make-changes-in-aspire-blogger-theme-to.html for more help with this theme.

Thanks Seeker,

I have the problem.

I am using this current Aspire template on my blog.

How do I edit the ‘Find Entries’ to google search bar? I do have google adsense account.

Tks!

Please let me know when you make it available to adjust the sidebars. Need it as soon as possible!

I have it up on my blog but can not add some things because the sidebars cut it off. Some I got in by adding but most won’t work.

Help!

Faiz,

your welcome.

Redkirin,

Did you check out the blog: http://genxpit.blogspot.com/2008/07/make-changes-in-aspire-blogger-theme-to.html, there may be some answers there. I don’t know how to fix your current problem, sorry.

Hi, I love this theme! Thanks so much.

I have a question. None of my links will open in a new window – even though I have them all set with the “_blank” target. When I click ‘view source’ on my blog I can see that a variable is set to false that I need to set to true. (I think :) ) Where do I go to change that to true?

Thanks in Advance,

What a nice template I always looking for ! I used the wordpress version. When I activated “show post count” on Categories and Archives widget, the post count printed below the title (not inline). I check the css and made some adjustments and it works great. Thanks :D .

can i use your blog template for a static web page?

I got this error “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /public_html/wp-content/themes/Aspire/archive.php on line 34″ when i click every category… How i can fix this error?

Thanks for any help

Hello! First off, thank you for designing and releasing such a beautiful theme.

The reason I’m commenting today is to ask for your help. My site [boh3m3.net] is having problems whenever I click on a category. The error page reads:

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/boh3m3ne/public_html/wp-content/themes/Aspire/archive.php on line 34″

Can you please help me fix this problem?

Hi, I would like to use this layout for my blog, but I don’t see how… I just need the formatcode to copy paste… Where can I get them? htx

Hi, i’d love to use this beautiful skin on my blogger site but it’s all messed up when I upload it. My banner is lost and several gadget boxes are missing so all the info from these gets pushed to the top of the page. My blog is now a mess. HELP!

heather alston says on September 10th, 2008 at 1:57 pm

Additional- I think this is happening because when you try to upload the HTML you get a message saying it is going to delete widgets * BlogArchive1
* BlogList1
Has anyone else come across this?

The Read me file is very confusing but thanks to Dave’s clear explanation, it works perfectly. Thanks

I use it in blogspot, but the top left part that should be date comes out as undefined=(

Saludos :)

Cool Man!!… I very like this, great job,.. Please create more!!… :-D

I have a problem. Would you please take a look at my blog? On teh upper left corner of each entry is an image that shows the date of the entry, but on my blog, it is two “undefined”.

Also, I would like to individualize my blog a bit, would you please teach me how to change the font of each entry to “Footlight MT Light”?

Thank you very very much

Did anyone ever find a fix for the problem …

“When I go into the single page view, or comments view, the two sidebars drop to the bottom.”

..I’m getting the same problem.

I am using this template (which is my favorite on the web) and am having an issue. The top left field, that should have the date, just says “undefined”. I am using Blogger and the Blogger template. What do I need to do to correct this?

having the same problem with the date and navbar isn’t visible. please help!

You can fix the “undefined” issue by going to Settings/Formatting/TimeStamp Format and make sure it looks like Monday, October 06, 2008

Hope that helps some of y’all.

My issue is I cant find the calendar anywhere!

Great theme, it’s perfect for my dad’s site (a blog about history of astrology in portuguese). Thank you!

I have downloaded the blogger version of this template. Everything was fine but suddenly the last 2 columns (am using the 2 clmn blog design) have shifted to bottom end. I need urgent help.

Smita@ Try to remove whatever you added to the last two columns. This happend to me when I added a banner larger than the sidebar. Should fix it.

I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Aspire (as there were some great tweaks with version 1.1.3), but my Tagline again got distorted (as happened with previous versions). I reverted back to version 1.1, where I had previously customized it. Is there any way in 1.1.3 to make the tagline smaller so it can fit on 2 lines (and perhaps not be in italics), or can you help me determine where and how to change teh coding? The current tagline again on my blog will not all fit on the current Aspire, so I reverted to the older one. Appreciate help in advance.

How can I edit header.php? ‘Cause I want to put my own flash menu on my main page. But when I do it, It collapses!

hey. i’ve been trying to opened up the files i’ve downloaded using WinRAR Achiver but i cant find where is the codes. I am lost currenty. can u help me for the steps?

hi…why the template i can see a date….

Hi! Great theme – thanks a lot for the work!

But: Problems with 2 sidebars “dropping” to the end of content:

@ Smita & Willi: I’ve got the same problem: I tracked it down (at least for me here) to the “more” tag within the editor: When I got only the articles in full length: No Problem: When I add the “read more” tag in the editor to the article: The 2 side-bar colums are broke down to the bottom of the whole content – design destroyed. Maybe something else can cause this as well in addition… but this is what I found.

See this here how it looks like for me:
http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=schnappschuss002zt4.png

When I remove the “read more” tags everything is O.K. then, the sidebars go where they belong.

Anyone an idea? :/

iolaus,

Thankyou !!! Perfect, that fixes it !

many thanks

i like this theme.but the problem is that we cannot comment on the post.on clicking the comment box the page just moves to top.Can U HELP me

Cybertyper,
there is a readme file included in the download, it tells you how to deal with that.

Love your Aspire template. But how do you change the widgets around? I had several enabled, but cannot seem to change their order. nor their size.
in admin, there is nothing listed in sidebar2 but several show up there.
If you visit my wordpress blog you will see some of the problem.
Thanks for any assistance.
René

Seeker:
Thanks for the assistance. I see:
4. Please don’t preview your blog just yet. Go to Template > Page Element. Add at least one link to “Top Menu” widget if this is a new blog…..
Well, I had already “viewed” my blog (if that matters), and I do NOT have an option to add a link to “top menu widget” — it’s just not there to use.
Help? Thanks!

@ashish trust me, you’re not doing it right. read the “read me” carefully and read what others have said here. It is a very simple instruction to follow

Buggenhagen says on November 18th, 2008 at 7:21 am

Great looking template but the title of my blog it too big to fit in the header and spills over onto a second line – how do I correct this? Any help much appreciated!

I loved this theme very much…..
How can i use this theme for account on blogspot.com?

I am using your Blogger version of this template for my blog at webofhistory.blogspot.com

It’s quite beautiful.

I’ve managed to enable all the basics though I’m still having some issues with “comments” features such as embedded comments below posts, trackbacks, email this post, the new Blogger “reactions” feature, etc. I’ll try to remember to post back here should I resolve those issues in the coming days.

Thank you for such a beautiful template.

Remember History

I am using this template along with the Event Calendar plug-in. Would like to use the ’start’ date from the Event Calendar ‘event’ as the date that displays in the date-bg.gif. Looks like what displays in there now is ‘the_time’ from post.

Any/All help muchly appreciated.

Does somebody know why does not apear “Recent comments” in the sidebar of this theme? What i’ve done wrong ?

Was this issue resolved, because I have the same problem. I do not see the resolution here. Please let me know, as I LOVE the look of this theme – and thank you so much for making it available.

ISSUE
I have a question. None of my links will open in a new window – even though I have them all set with the “_blank” target.

Its very nice, Beautiful Theme, wonderful work, whatever praise you want, take it, it is deserved.

It’s very beautiful =)
I don’t speak english and I’m not sure that what I writting XD
But, this theme is very beautiful xD just just I love this (L)

I am trouble with time stamp.
In time stamp, template say undetifined
so how can i repair this template. pls advice me……(or) pls send me help mail for this

I don’t know how to make the day/month at the top left of the post show. It doesn’t show the day and month like in the demo… It’s written “undefined”. What does it mean?? do i have to set / define it before??

Help me…, Thank’s.

I have problem of showing date in datebox. I also have checked date format as shown in “readme” file

After searching for a *VERY* long time, I finally found a theme I like… thank you very much for making it public.

But…

If you close comments on a post, the two widget columns drop to the bottom of the page. Is there a quick and easy fix to this, or is this just something that needs to be working on for an update to the theme?

I love this template… It’s simply beautiful.

I’ve gotten most everything to work right (including the infamous date/time problem), but there were several steps in the Read Me file I was not able to complete. I couldn’t edit my Archives, Recent Posts, or Recent Comments widget because they just weren’t…there. I mean, there aren’t any headings like that on my Layout page (I’m using Blogger).

Am I missing something really obvious?

I normally wouldn’t bother about asking since everything is running fine without finishing those steps, but I love the calendar widget thing I see in the demo, and since it hasn’t appeared on my blog, I’m assuming it has something to do with the absence of the aforesaid widgets in my page elements.

I really like the layout and colors that you chose for this website! It certainly is incredible! :)

Hi
I have the same problem as a few others, my guest’s cannot post any comments on my blog, and I have no login part, and no calendar.

Except from that I simply love this!

Hello. I really like this theme. Do you have a version that I can use for my blog at Blogger? I’d really appreciate it. It’s the perfect template for my game blog.

Hope you can help me.

Thanks!

I’ve uploaded the [blogger] template to my [blogger]blog, but am getting a really strange “undefined” [error?] statement where the date is supposed to go in the top left hand corner of every post.

I’ve tried changing the date syntax in the “Blog Posts” section under “Edit Layout” but that’s not fixed it. The ReadMe says to update the syntax in the “Recent Posts” yet I can’t find that gadget/widget? Anyone with any ideas?

Otherwise, I’m loving the template, the way it looks etc.

How to see the date on blogspot. I dont see any date in a big orange square?
Please – what change in date formating I must to make ?

Hi,

I love the Aspire theme. It’s perfect for what I need. I just wanted to tweak the header to have the default to be open external links in a new window. I tried to set it up but made a mess. Do you know how I could modify that?

Thank you, Elena Coen

Aspire must be a beautiful theme, but it doesn´t works in Blogger. I have download th glogger version and doesn´t accept it.
Sorry for my english because I´m from other country

@Elena…. the setting of the header can be done in wordpress. But why would you need your internal pages open in external link? There’s a plugin at the top that does that for all external link which each user can set.

Ot.F. Learn how to read :) check some of the answers above as lots of people said this already … it works … just read the ‘read me file” and again… use firefox browser when working with blogger

Vashti — read the read me file

@Admin when can we expect a new theme?

Hi. I had same “undefined” date error. I tryed change date in the “Format” sectiona and I don’t fix it. I use other language than English (I’m Spanish).
Owever, I fixed the problem changing the date format, not in “Format” section, but in “Design” > “Page Elements” > “Blog Posts” > 4th line date. Then it works.

Please, I suggest to put the most “popular” issues in a top post, to avoid new users needs to read the huge amount of posts.

Congratulations for the template, It’s one of most beautiful of the web. ;-)

Thanks and best regards.

Guillermo
